“Spain: Art, Passion & Life”
On October 12, 2025, to celebrate Spanish National Day, Paloma Sanchez, the Art of Jewelry hosted a special event themed “Spain: Art, Passion & Life” at the studio The Penthouse in Beijing. Fragrance, light, color, and art merged into a living canvas, immersing everyone in a feast of culture and aesthetics, and evoking the passion, elegance, and joy of life in Spain.
The event offered an authentic Spanish culinary experience. The savory ham, the sweet melon, and the tangy olives and banderillas mingled with the rich aroma of fine wine, evoking the lively atmosphere of Spain. In a relaxed and joyful setting, guests raised their glasses and shared conversations, immersing themselves in a sensory feast that celebrated the warmth, culture, and charm of Spain.
On display were the exquisite creations of Paloma Sanchez, the Art of Jewelry. Each piece stood as a poem cast in light and form, blending the passion of Spain with the elegance of the East. In the dialogue between color and line, the essence of jewelry as art quietly unfolds. They are a dialogue between cultures, an echo of emotion, and a tangible expression of artistic thought.
The afternoon was graced by performances from classical guitarists Mr. Wang Youmin, guest professor and graduate advisor at the School of Arts, Renmin University of China, and Mrs. Sun Mei, guitarist of the Beijing Zhong Ai Symphony Orchestra. Both performers played eight-string guitars, a distinctive symbol of Spanish musical culture, offering a wider range and richer textures than traditional six-string instruments.
The performance opened with Granados’s Oriental, whose gentle yet exotic melody transported the audience to the sun-drenched Iberian Peninsula. Then, followed by Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez, a modern interpretation of traditional Spanish Gypsy style that conveyed the nation’s distinctive passion. Next came Tárrega’s Recuerdos de la Alhambra, creating a magnificent scenery and profound historical heritage of the Alhambra Palace. As the guitar notes resonated through the hall, guests immersed themselves in the interplay of jewelry’s light and music’s rhythm, feeling the very soul and allure of Spain.
The unique passion and vitality of Spain flowed through the rhythm of the music, lingered in the fragrance of wine, and shone from the heart of each jewel. Amid a warm and lively atmosphere, guests raised their glasses to celebrate, sharing the joy of art and life. As Ms. Paloma said, “Art is the soul of Spain, and jewelry is the emotion we share from the heart.”
