They came for a glimpse, but they lingered a little longer. Then they left and came back with more friends, and introduced themselves. The marvel in their eyes said it all. They looked at the different pieces of jewelry like they were sculptures standing in a museum. That moment reminded us why we cared so much about sharing our designs with the world. Why we went to Japan to share, to inspire, and to be inspired by likeminded professionals.

With the resurgence of the Japanese economy well underway, the Japanese luxury industry, which is second only to the United States, has been forecasted to see similar growth rates.

The Japan Jewelry Fair (JJF), organized by UBM Japan Co Ltd and Japan Jewelry Association is an opportunity for us and likeminded professionals in the luxury jewelry industry to meet and network. As one of the brands that participated in the 25th Annual Japan Jewelry Fair, our experiences and the friends that we made were both inspiring and heart warming.

During the course of the event, we were introduced to several individuals that have played and are still playing an important role in the Japanese luxury jewelry market. We also had the opportunity to reconnect with old friends from the Gemological Institute of America. We shared ideas, we exchanged contacts with them, and discussed potential collaborative opportunities.

We must say that it was a success. Not only because we made new friends, and that we were able to create more awareness for the Paloma Sanchez brand, but also because we were reminded of what was important to us. We were reminded that “the art of jewelry” is a principle that we should share with the rest of the world.
